Dedicated To Your Growth

At Rise Through Counseling, we believe that every person deserves the experience of feeling deeply understood.

Too often, people come to therapy believing something is wrong with them. Hiller takes a different approach. She begins by understanding your story—how your experiences, relationships, nervous system, strengths, and values have shaped the way you move through the world. When those pieces begin to connect, clarity replaces confusion, and meaningful change becomes possible.

Hiller’s work is guided by the Rise Through Method™, an integrative therapeutic framework that combines evidence-based approaches with a personalized understanding of the whole person. Rather than beginning with a single therapeutic technique, Hiller begins with you. The interventions she uses are thoughtfully chosen to support your unique goals, experiences, and strengths.

Every person’s story is different, but the intention is the same: to help you make sense of your experiences, gain greater clarity and self-trust, and move forward in a way that reflects your strengths, values, and goals.

Because when you understand yourself more fully, you gain the freedom to build a life that truly fits.

Our Specialties

Hiller is a neurodiversity-affirming therapist who specializes in autism, ADHD, trauma, anxiety, and executive functioning. Drawing from evidence-based approaches including EMDR, CBT, IFS-informed interventions, and nervous system-informed care, she helps clients make sense of their experiences, build confidence in their ability to move forward, and shape a life that feels meaningful, fulfilling, and authentically theirs.

Autism & Neurodivergence

We provide affirming, collaborative support for autistic and otherwise neurodivergent adolescents and adults. Together, we build a deeper understanding of how your mind, nervous system, and unique strengths work—helping you navigate relationships, everyday challenges, and life with greater confidence while remaining true to who you are.

ADHD & Executive Functioning

We help adolescents and adults with ADHD better understand how their brain works while strengthening executive functioning skills, improving communication and relationships, building practical systems, and creating greater confidence in everyday life.

Trauma & PTSD

We provide compassionate support for growth from past or recent trauma. Together, we’ll process painful experiences, reduce anxiety and distress, and rebuild a sense of safety, balance, and self-trust.

EMDR helps the brain reprocess trauma so you can find grounding in spaces that once felt overwhelming. This evidence-based method reduces distress, promotes clarity, and strengthens new, life-affirming beliefs.

Identity & Life Transitions

Life transitions often invite us to reconsider who we are, what we value, and how we want to move forward. Whether you’re navigating a major change or simply feeling ready for something different, we’ll work together to better understand yourself, strengthen self-trust, and intentionally create a life that reflects who you are.

Anxiety & Stress

Whether you’re carrying constant stress, persistent worry, or experiencing sudden panic, we’ll work together to understand what’s driving those experiences, strengthen your nervous system, and develop practical tools that help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control.

Depression & Mood

Whether you’re navigating depression, emotional highs and lows, or feeling like you’ve lost connection with yourself, you don’t have to make sense of it alone. Together, we’ll understand your experience, build on your strengths, and create a path toward greater steadiness, hope, and a life that feels more like your own.

Grief & Loss

Grief can move in waves, showing up in expected and unexpected ways. We offer a supportive space to honor what has been lost, tend to the emotions that arise, and move at your own pace. Our work supports integration, meaning-making, and connection—allowing grief to be held with care as you continue forward.

Relationships & Couples

Relationships can bring deep connection, growth, and meaning—and they can also feel confusing, tender, or overwhelming at times. We work together to build understanding, strengthen communication, and explore patterns that shape how you connect with others. Our work supports clarity, mutual respect, and relationships that feel more secure, authentic, and nourishing.

Life Coaching & Personal Growth

We provide practical, forward-focused support to help you navigate decisions, build confidence, and move toward what matters most to you. This work creates space to think clearly, stay grounded, and take meaningful steps toward a life that feels aligned, steady, and fully your own.

Mark Taylor, Certified Life Coach

Mark is a Certified Life Coach and has served as a mental health therapist in various settings in both Mississippi and Alabama, currently based in Birmingham, Alabama. He brings a steady, down-to-earth presence to his work that helps you feel at ease, stronger in who you are, and move forward in a way that feels right to you.

Through sharing his own experiences, humor, and facilitating meaningful engagement and reflection, Mark creates an environment where you can let your guard down and feel understood. His presence is grounded, encouraging, and easy to connect with—making it natural for you to open up, engage, and relate.

Mark brings a lightness into the room that helps you reconnect with your creativity, imagination, and sense of possibility, even when life feels heavy. He is someone people genuinely look forward to being around—because they feel seen, valued, and believed in.

Over time, Mark walks alongside you in a personal and authentic way, as you build confidence in who you are. You begin to see what you are capable of, feel inspired to try new things, and show up in your life in a way that feels true to you—while working toward meaningful goals, both big and small.

Further, Mark brings a strong background in athletics, with a particular connection to tennis. He understands the mental and emotional side of sports—the pressure, expectations, and internal dialogue that shape both performance and enjoyment. In his work with athletes and teams, Mark helps you identify your strengths, build confidence, and approach both competition and growth with clarity, steadiness, and a powerful perspective.

Mark is relatable, real and steady, holding deep value in helping others feel connected, accepted, and inspired. In addition to his collaboration with Hiller for Talks & Workshops, he is available for one-on-one sessions for adolescents and adults looking for support in taking the next meaningful step in their lives.
