Talks & Workshops for Real-Life Connection & Growth

Intentional, engaging talks and small-group workshops that help young people connect, deepen awareness and understanding, and learn sustainable tools that truly support them.

We offer interactive talks and workshop series for youth and young adults in schools, churches, and community organizations. These experiences are designed to meet young people where they are — creating a safe space for social and emotional growth, self-empowerment, and focus.

Why This Matters

Young people today are navigating increased pressure, complexity, and internal stress.

Many don’t need more information—
they need:

  • Space to process and grow
  • Language for what they’re experiencing
  • Support in understanding themselves
  • Tools they can actually use
  • Steady support to take the next step

This work supports a sense of groundedness, capability, and connection—both in the moment and as you move forward.

Overview

Designed to feel real, relatable, and useful

Through a combination of real-life perspective, practical tools, and engaging delivery, we help individuals feel more grounded in who they are, more connected in their relationships, and more clear in the path they want to take from here.

Option 1

Monthly Talks

Each month, we focus on a specific theme and bring that message into different schools, churches, and organizations.

  • Relatable and engaging
  • Story-driven and reflective
  • Grounded in real-life experiences
  • Designed to hold attention while offering meaningful takeaways

Group members leave with language, perspective, and ideas they can carry into their everyday lives.

Option 2

4-Week Workshop Series

Our workshops take the same monthly theme and expand it into a more in-depth, hands-on experience. Each group meets once per week for four weeks.

  • Build trust and connection
  • Explore ideas more deeply
  • Practice skills in real time
  • Engage in discussion and reflection

These sessions are interactive, structured, and flexible—designed to meet the specific group while maintaining a clear direction and purpose.

Where we work

Flexible for a range of group environments

If you have a space where young people are gathering, we can bring this work into that environment.

Schools

Middle and high schools, young adult groups, and campus-based youth programming.

Churches

Youth groups, faith-based gatherings, and spaces centered on encouragement and connection.

Community Spaces

Boys & Girls Clubs, athletic teams, and organizations that support youth and young adults in meaningful ways.

What participants gain

More than information

  • A stronger sense of who they are
  • Greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and responses
  • Practical ways to navigate stress, pressure, and relationships
  • Language for what they are experiencing
  • A sense of connection—to themselves and to others

Most importantly, they experience being met in a way that feels real, relatable, and grounded.

Our approach

Connection first

This work is built on connection first. We don’t talk at the group—we engage with them.

  • Humor and real-life stories
  • Honest conversation without pressure
  • Practical tools that feel usable
  • A steady, grounded presence

Every talk and workshop is designed to be both meaningful and accessible—something young people can connect to in the moment and carry with them afterward.

Experience & background

Led by experience. Grounded in how we show up.

This work is led by Hiller Burton, LPC, NCC, CAS, and Mark Taylor, Certified Life Coach.

What we bring

  • A combined 20+ years of experience working with individuals, groups, and families
  • Backgrounds in mental health, coaching, and personal development
  • Experience with youth, teens, community, clinics, and one-on-one settings
  • A shared ability to connect in a way that feels genuine and relatable

Our intention

While our professional backgrounds are strong, what matters most in these settings is how we show up—present, engaged, and able to meet individuals in a real and human way.

We believe in them, and that belief is something they can feel and carry with them, while shaping the space we create together.

Let’s connect

If you’re interested in bringing a talk or workshop series to your group, we’d love to connect.

Hiller and Mark connect with you in a real, relatable way—helping you feel more like yourself, experience a greater sense of ease and connection, and take meaningful steps toward what matters most to you.

Real connection. Steady encouragement. Space to be yourself.

Mark Taylor, Certified Life Coach

Mark is a Certified Life Coach and has served as a mental health therapist in various settings in both Mississippi and Alabama, currently based in Birmingham, Alabama. He brings a steady, down-to-earth presence to his work that helps you feel at ease, stronger in who you are, and move forward in a way that feels right to you.

Through sharing his own experiences, humor, and facilitating meaningful engagement and reflection, Mark creates an environment where you can let your guard down and feel understood. His presence is grounded, encouraging, and easy to connect with—making it natural for you to open up, engage, and relate.

Mark brings a lightness into the room that helps you reconnect with your creativity, imagination, and sense of possibility, even when life feels heavy. He is someone people genuinely look forward to being around—because they feel seen, valued, and believed in.

Over time, Mark walks alongside you in a personal and authentic way, as you build confidence in who you are. You begin to see what you are capable of, feel inspired to try new things, and show up in your life in a way that feels true to you—while working toward meaningful goals, both big and small.

Further, Mark brings a strong background in athletics, with a particular connection to tennis. He understands the mental and emotional side of sports—the pressure, expectations, and internal dialogue that shape both performance and enjoyment. In his work with athletes and teams, Mark helps you identify your strengths, build confidence, and approach both competition and growth with clarity, steadiness, and a powerful perspective.

Mark is relatable, real and steady, holding deep value in helping others feel connected, accepted, and inspired. In addition to his collaboration with Hiller for Talks & Workshops, he is available for one-on-one sessions for adolescents and adults looking for support in taking the next meaningful step in their lives.
