What the present moment feels like

You are here, now. Right now, you are here. At least you are here in this moment and doing whatever you are doing. You may be feeling tired, or pensive, or restless, or anxious, or thinking about what you need to do this upcoming week, or like me, realizing that we are almost halfway through the year 2025 and sort of freaking out about that.

All of this is okay. It’s okay to feel however it is you are feeling right now in this moment.

Now I want you to tune into these feelings, just take a few minutes to realize where you are standing or sitting and watch the thoughts you are having pass across your mind. What do you hear? The sound of the dishwasher running your weekend dishes? Is there a child playing in the yard across the street? Or maybe you only hear the sound of the refrigerator running, or your dog lapping water at her bowl… or perhaps, all you hear is your own heartbeat that is keeping you alive.

Feel your thoughts flow through you. Then place your hand on your chest and take a deep breath in. Hold it for 5 seconds, then release it slowly.

You are here, now. Right now, you are here.
